COVID-19 Wellness Policy & Waiver
Pineapple Music Studio has put the following precautions into place*:
1. The studio will offer the option of in-person or cyber lessons to our families. To take advantage of either option, families may choose either cyber or in-person lessons at the beginning of each month. Teachers will have specific days/times in their schedule set aside for in-person lessons and other blocks of time set aside for cyber lessons.
2. All teachers/students/adults at lessons are encouraged to wear a mask according to local and State guidelines. We ask that students and teachers will wash their hands/use hand sanitizer before and after lessons.
3. Please remember to maintain physical distancing when possible and to shift to cyber/video lessons if anyone in the home is ill.
4. Any Studio events will be held either online or with carefully monitored social-distancing guidelines.
5. The Studio will hold buffer “Cyber Weeks” at their discretion when ALL lessons will move online due to increased COVID-19 numbers or increased risk of exposure due to holiday travel. In-person lessons will resume after the week is over.
6. The Studio maintains the right to shift everyone to cyber lessons at their discretion according to the guidelines of local and State governing bodies.
In order to keep everyone healthy, we are asking our families to:
1. Have hand sanitizer available for the student and the teacher at the lesson time.
2. Regularly sanitize the instrument with surface-safe cleaner. Piano Keys (white AND black) can be wiped down with a soft cloth and peroxide or using disinfectant wipes. Bleach wipes can yellow your keys over time. Ammonia based Windex can be used to clean the outside of a polymer coated piano/ keyboard or other instruments.
3. If your student or anyone else in your family has a cough, fever or has been exposed to COVID or is ill, please schedule a cyber lesson with your teacher for that week.
4. If anyone in your home has tested positive for COVID-19, please let your teacher know. They will continue with cyber lessons for ONE WEEK AFTER the quarantine has been lifted. In-person lessons may then resume.
5. As a reminder of our Cancellation Policy, if your student is ill and cannot attend a lesson for any reason, please notify your teacher as soon as possible. Missed lessons for illness can be made -up by scheduling a cyber lesson, requesting a video lesson, attending a group lesson or over a make-up week of our Fall or Spring Breaks. Lessons that are cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will not be credited or offered a make-up lesson. For further clarification, please view our full Studio Policy Guide.
*These policies will be updated according to the ongoing health & safety information available from State and local agencies.
