WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT THE TRIAL LESSON?
When you set up a trial lesson, your prospective teacher comes to your home, usually at the time your regular lesson would be scheduled, so you can experience exactly what a lesson would be like. You are expected to have an adequate instrument in your home at the time of the trial lesson. The teacher will spend about 15-20 minutes working with the student depending on their level of experience to evaluate their level, learning style, musical goals and what materials are needed. New students will learn a few short songs, play a musical game and learn a little about their instrument.

Parents are welcome to observe during the lesson and ask any questions you may have after the lesson. This is a great opportunity to get a feel for a music lesson, meet the teacher, and evaluate how the teacher and student work together. The director will follow-up after the lesson to see if you are ready to move forward with regular lessons!

    WHAT INSTRUMENTS DO YOU OFFER?
We currently offer lessons for piano, guitar, bass guitar, saxophone, ukulele, drums, song writing and music production.

DO I NEED A PIANO TO START PIANO LESSONS?
No, many students start piano lessons on a keyboard. We are happy to help advise you on things to look for when purchasing an instrument, and let you know of special sales going on in the area. Down the road, your teacher can help you decide when it’s time to invest in a better instrument as your student progresses on their musical journey.

HOW LONG AND HOW OFTEN ARE LESSONS USUALLY TAUGHT?
Most students begin with our Basic Lesson Package which includes weekly 30-minute lessons. Once a student have taken lessons for about two years, we highly recommend moving to our Premier Package which includes weekly 45-minute lessons as well as increased time spent on theory, composition and more difficult repertoire. As students progress in their musical skills, we also offer a Premier PLUS which includes 1-hour lessons.

WHAT AREAS DO YOU OFFER LESSONS?

Our teachers travel to the following areas:

    Nashville, Franklin, Spring Hill, Brentwood

    HOW ARE LESSONS BILLED?
Our studio operates on a monthly tuition basis and includes the full membership to our studio. This means that your tuition covers more than just weekly lessons and that you are charged the same amount each month whether there are four or five weeks in a month. This makes it easy for you to budget for lessons each month! Weekly lessons, group lessons, recitals, festivals, community events, teacher travel time, practice incentives, special music choices, studio license memberships and more are all included in your tuition.
The summer months of June, July and August are pro-rated per week to give our families more flexibility!

    HOW DO YOU HANDLE PAYMENTS?
Pineapple Music Studio uses an online billing system called
Wave. You can log into this system at any time to track payments, make payments and access your account. Auto-pay is set up through our secure system during the registration process, and your monthly tuition is charged to you on the 1st of each month.

    IS THERE A CONTRACT?
There is no contract. Tuition is paid on a monthly basis and we ask that if you need to cancel lessons, you simply give the studio and your teacher a month’s notice.

WHAT LESSON PACKAGES DO YOU OFFER?
We offer a variety of Lesson Packages to fit each student! Our packages vary by type of lesson, duration of direct instruction time and teacher. All packages include weekly lessons along with the f
ull membership to our studio complete with performance opportunities, access to group lessons, practice incentives and assignment books, studio licenses membership, and the specialized preparation of our teachers and their travel time for each student.

We do not charge separate fees for travel and event participation and our teachers take the same amount of time to plan and prepare for each student. Therefore do not offer a sibling discount at this time. Your tuition remains the same whether there are four or five weeks in a month. Adult lessons and Preschool Piano Lessons are offered at a discounted tuition.

AT WHAT AGE DO YOU SUGGEST STARTING MUSIC LESSONS?
Piano students can start as young as 3 years old! We have a specifically designed program called WunderKeys for our preschool learners. Preschoolers will focus on rhythm, aural skills and gaining comfort with the keyboard.

For students in kindergarten or older, they can jump right into our regular program! We generally suggest starting the piano as a first instrument for young students. This provides a great introduction to music that easily translates to other instruments if they choose to switch!

DO YOU HAVE A PIANO TUNER YOU RECOMMEND?
We do! We have worked with Steinway & Sons of Nashville and highly recommend their knowledgeable staff!

    DO YOU HOLD RECITALS?
We hold two large recitals a year and participate in several community events and festivals throughout the year. Our recitals are a special event that students look forward to! Each one is held at a special venue, has a theme, prizes, food and a take home gift for each student. These are open to all Pineapple students, but are not mandatory. We also conduct a Holiday Concert in December, a Community Concert in March and participate in various other festivals and showcases throughout the year.

DO YOU BACKGROUND CHECK YOUR TEACHERS?
Yes! In addition to meeting our high educational standards, our teachers must pass background checks and character references.
